Crokinole derives from the French word croquignole meaning a biscuit or cookie. And when you see the shape of the crokinole board, you can see why.
It originated in Quebec, Canada in the mid 19th century.
The objective of the game is to shoot your playing piece into the centre “20 hole” and score twenty points. If you fail, but your piece is still on the playing surface, opposing players will try and shoot your piece off the board, whilst also trying to get their twenty points.
